Mom Brain + Newborn-ish

Mom Brain + Newborn-ish

I used to be kind of good at language. Like, I got As in school and stuff. I could hold an intelligent conversation in English and in French. I wrote software documentation for a living.

Now? Three kids in and consistently sleep deprived? Not so much.

Here’s a list of words that have -poof!- evaporated from my brain in the past week, right in the middle of conversations:

  • patio
  • organize
  • dishwasher
  • WiFi
  • ferris wheel
  • combine
  • probably lots more that I can’t even recall at the moment

My point? Mom Brain is real, and it hits you where it hurts.

But it’s fine. I’m fine. Everything’s fine. Hahaha.

In other news, Pria’s newborn photos came back!

I honestly thought we would skip these and just do family photos in the fall because, hello, photos are expensive, and this little gal has practically bankrupted us already. But then as she started to get bigger by the day, I thought how much I would regret not having these in a few years.

She’s already five weeks old in these photos, and newborn sessions are generally within the first couple weeks, so I’m calling them “newborn-ish.” But I’m really glad that we got them done, and I’m thrilled with how they turned out.

Ben always sticks his tongue out a little bit (a mannerism Luca inherited) when he’s concentrating hard. Like while doing chemistry or building a fence…or swaddling a baby.

KC locals, Sahsha Kochanowicz is the BESSST if you’re into documentary-style photography as opposed to posed portraits. She’s done five shoots for us so far and I’ve loved every single one.

We were promised 25 photos with the session fee, and instead, we got (drumroll) 172! Ha! VERY hard to narrow it down to the best ones (plus we of course got some great ones with the boys’ faces too); if anyone wants to see the full set, let me know, and I’ll send ya the link.

If I can, that is, what with my barely functioning brain. Insert crazy-faced emoji.

xo!
